Description
Eric James Mellon is a potter dedicated to the ceramic process who is also skilled as a graphic artist. The characteristic pots (high-fired, ash glazed stoneware and porcelain) which spring from this combination are highly unusual and perhaps historically unique in the importance which they give to figurative decoration, since the majolica and faience potters over hundreds of years, and many centuries earlier still the potters of ancient Greece, were all elaborating their figuration in lower-fired earthenwares.
