Description
Jill Fanshawe-Kato's ceramics and pottery are inspired by nature and her travels in Asian countries. Tropical birds, exotic flowers and leaves and wild animals are used as decoration. Born in Nottingham, England, she graduated from Chelsea Art School in Painting. Later she went to Japan where she lived for six years and intensively studied pottery at the school of the Bizen potter, Yosei Itaka and at Musoan Karatsu Pottery School in Tokyo.
