"My skill as a particularly accurate thrower acquired during an intensive throwing apprenticeship in the porcelain workshops of Kyoto, Japan has always been much in demand. This demand has taken me into numerous collaborations and resulted in me producing over a period of years, literally, hundreds of thousands of pots.
Over the last two years there has been a dramatic change in my work. I have chosen to stay within my discipline the potter's wheel but to use my skill to follow a very personal developmental journey. A journey where thought and experimentation play as larger role as the production process itself. Since moving to the island I have spent hundreds of hour's offshore sailing and racing, night and day, winter and summer. The intense beauty I have experienced is absorbed deep within me and has initiated a seemingly unstoppable creative energy.
Water and air, liquid and gas, and the interplay between their colours and movement, are the essential ingredients from which I draw my inspiration."
