Jeremy Waller is the owner of Primavera.
Jeremy Waller is passionately interested in the development
of British art and creative writing since very early
times. Primavera owns an impressive collection of early
artefacts and jewellery from Iron Age times. Please
ask the gallery staff to arrange for an appointment
to view these.
Jeremy Waller also owns and directs First
Edition Translations Ltd. For example one of its many contracts
is with Rebo Publishers who have published the Gallery
of Great Painters series including Rembrandt and Degas.
At First Edition (www.firstedit.co.uk)
one can view many of the books which Jeremy and his
team have worked
on in Cambridge. Some of these are displayed at the
Charles Lamb gallery on the first floor at King's Parade
(where Charles Lamb lived for a time). Customers can
sense the mystery of one of our greatest poets and
essayists, imagining Charles Lamb thinking and writing
in front of one of the original beautiful early C18
fireplaces.
Were Jeremy Waller not to purchase outright most
of the jewellery and artwork on display at Primavera,
artists could not afford to let Jeremy have the work
at prices which are discounted, compared to those
at
which artists sell directly on the Internet, at fairs
and at shows.
Note the prices paid by Jeremy Waller still allow
artists to profit from their creativity whilst
also allowing
Jeremy to add sufficient mark-up to cover rent,
rates and staffing.
Prices therefore reflect artist
prices. They are not inflated 'gallery' prices.
Jeremy Waller studied history at Emmanuel College
Cambridge. He also gained a place at St Martins
to study Art and
at the Middle Temple where he studied law.
After
working in London for 5 years, Jeremy Waller ACMA,
as an engineering accountant,
went to live
in the Lebanon in 1980 and was based in Beirut
during the civil war and the Israeli invasion.
The arts
flourished
in Beirut despite the conflict. Much of Jeremy's
desire to help artists originates from this time.
Jeremy then went to live in Paris, where
he met his wife Sheila. Together they went
to
live in
Nairobi,
Kenya in 1985, where their three sons were
born. Their eldest son, Anthony Waller
is now at SOAS
studying Chinese and Korean. Nicholas Waller
is at Durham
University.
Horatio Waller is at The Leys School in
Cambridge.
Jeremy Waller's younger brother, Martin
Waller, owns Andrew Martin based in Walton
Street
London. Both
Jeremy and Martin Waller, in their different
ways, seek to
explore the best of creative arts throughout
the world - Jeremy concentrating on British
art.
